Award Winning Director - Mischa Rozema

Biography


Mischa Rozema (born 1971) is a Dutch film and commercials director. He was the co-founder of Amsterdam film company, The Panics.

After studying Industrial Design, Graphic Design and Image & Media Technology, his love of film drew him into the direction of filmmaking. This ‘designer turned filmmaker’ journey has resulted into his unique approach to creating mind-blowing alternate realities from the ground up. Without losing focus on the human and emotional narrative.

Having made his name internationally over 20 years with creatively ambitious commercial work, directed for high-profile brands as well as a string of personal projects, Mischa decided to focus more on his longer form film ambitions. His philosophical sci-fi feature film idea SUNDAYS managed to successfully start a bidding war between the Hollywood studios. Resulting in a major film deal for the project. The concept short released in March 2015 and was a defining point in his development.

Commissioned for US cable giant Liberty Global, ‘A Report of Connected Events’ is a 4 minute love letter to storytelling which earned him worldwide critical acclaim, winning Clio, Ciclope, Shots and Art of Creativity awards and the Grand Prix at the Dutch Creativity Awards, amongst others. Mischa also directed ‘The Fall’ for PlayStation and Adam&eveDDB, a visually stunning tour de force which also saw him pick up several industry accolades.

As a creator of epic adventures and dark worlds, Mischa’s ambitious mixed-media storytelling has won him a formidable international reputation.

In between commercial projects, Mischa writes and directs scripts for short films, series and feature films.

Mischa speaks regularly at festivals worldwide.
